Parckfarm T&T
The aims of ParckFarmT&T asbl are to promote ecological practices in the urban environment and to maintain the social relations of the various communities surrounding the Tour&Taxis site. The association, which grew out of the ParckDesign 2014 experience, is a self-supporting reality run by and for local residents, with the aim of enlivening the public space and supporting citizens in setting up projects, workshops, neighbourhood parties and any other civic initiative.
The environmental aspect is developed through support for sustainable food, the promotion of urban agriculture and sustainable economic models. A number of activities (events, workshops, guided tours, etc.) are organised to raise public awareness of ‘green’ practices. The management of a canteen, which follows the Parckdesign festival slogan ‘from the landscape to the plate’, also aims to support the professionalisation of professions linked to sustainable food.
The social aspect aims to stimulate encounters between residents and strengthen social ties. As a ‘sociable farm’, the not-for-profit association is an open platform, at both local and regional level, capable of promoting eco-production and sustainable, supportive lifestyles in an urban environment in an innovative way.
