Maks vzw
Since 1999 the nonprofit Maks stimulates Brussels citizens, primarily from the neighbourhoods Kuregem and Molenbeek, to develop their talents and competences. Maks designs innovative methods to encourage young and old to enrich their digital skills. We work in - and outside the schoolwalls, teaching pupils to become producers of ICT rather than only consumers. Together, we make videos about actual topics and we teach programming skills. Maks recognizes the power of storytelling and knows that allowing people to express their story helps them to make more conscious choices in life. That’s why we encourage job seekers and other vulnerable groups to create their own (digital) story. Maks also delivers tailored-made trainings and workshops on digital skills to trainers and beneficiaries of (non)profit organisations.
